Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 1 January 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the JoyRibbons platform, including our website at joyribbons.com, our mobile applications, and all related services. By registering an account or using any part of our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

JoyRibbons (operated by Flywave Technology Limited) is a wedding registry and gifting platform that enables couples to create wedding gift registries, invite guests to purchase gifts, manage gift selections, and opt to receive either physical gifts or cash equivalents through our payout system.

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for providing accurate, current and complete registration information and keeping your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@joyribbons.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

• Registries are for personal, non-commercial use in connection with a genuine upcoming wedding or celebration.
• You may not create fictitious, duplicate, or fraudulent registries designed to collect gifts without a genuine underlying event.
• JoyRibbons reserves the right to investigate and remove registries we reasonably believe are fraudulent or abusive.
• We do not guarantee any specific product will remain available throughout your registry period. Availability is subject to supplier inventory.
• You are responsible for ensuring your delivery address and bank account details are accurate and up to date.

• Gift purchases are final once payment is confirmed. Refunds are only available where required by applicable consumer protection law.
• Guests confirm they are making a voluntary gift and retain no ownership or claim over the purchased item or its cash equivalent.
• JoyRibbons is not responsible for errors in gift selection made by guests.
• Payments are processed by our third-party providers. By making a purchase, you also agree to their terms.

• Registry holders may receive gifts as physical items (no fee) or as a cash equivalent subject to a 10% conversion fee on the gift value.
• Cash payout requests are made via the Withdraw section of your account Overview and are processed within 3–5 business days.
• JoyRibbons may delay or withhold payouts where there is reasonable suspicion of fraud, an active dispute, or an ongoing investigation.
• Payouts go to the bank account registered in your account. JoyRibbons is not liable for funds sent to incorrect details you provided.
• Once a physical gift has been dispatched, it cannot be converted to a cash payout.
• Payout fees and timelines may change. We will give 14 days' notice of any material changes on the Platform.

You agree not to use JoyRibbons to:

• Engage in fraudulent activity, money laundering, or any illegal purpose
• Create fake registries to collect funds without a genuine underlying event
• Impersonate another person or use someone else's identity to register or receive payouts
• Use automated tools or bots to scrape, manipulate or excessively query the Platform
• Attempt to circumvent any security feature or access unauthorised areas of the Platform
• Resell, commercially exploit, or redistribute any aspect of the Platform without our written consent

All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, images, design elements and software — is the property of JoyRibbons or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute any content without prior written permission.

By uploading content to your registry, you grant JoyRibbons a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content to operate and promote the Platform.

The Platform may integrate with third-party services such as payment providers, courier partners, and logistics companies. JoyRibbons is not responsible for third-party content or practices. Your use of such services is governed by their own terms and policies.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JoyRibbons is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of revenue, or disruption to your event plans. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to JoyRibbons in the 12 months preceding the claim.

If you have a dispute, contact us first at hello@joyribbons.com. We will try to resolve it within 14 business days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Unresolved disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
