How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in Nigeria? (2025 Guide)

Wedding photography is one of the most important investments in your wedding budget — it is the only thing you will have after the day is over. Here is a realistic breakdown for 2025.

The Price Tiers

Entry level (80,000 – 200,000): Newer photographers building their portfolio. Always review a full wedding gallery, not just highlight shots.

Mid-range (200,000 – 600,000): Experienced photographers with 3–7 years of wedding work. The best value range for most Nigerian couples.

Premium (600,000 – 1,500,000): Established photographers with strong brand recognition in Lagos or Abuja. Consistent quality and fast turnaround.

Elite (1,500,000+): Photographers whose work appears regularly on BellaNaija Weddings. Some charge in dollars. Book 12–18 months in advance.

What Affects the Price

Number of events covered (traditional wedding, white wedding, and reception are typically bundled or priced separately). Number of hours — standard coverage is 6–8 hours. A second shooter adds 50,000–150,000. Editing turnaround — premium photographers deliver within 2–4 weeks. Printed albums add 80,000–400,000.

Questions to Ask Before Booking

Can I see a full gallery from a wedding shot in the last 6 months? What happens if you have an emergency on my wedding day? Who owns the copyright to the images? What is the delivery timeline and format? Is travel included or billed separately? What deposit is required and what is the cancellation policy?

Red Flags

No written contract. Inability to show a full wedding gallery. No backup camera equipment. Vague delivery timelines. Prices significantly below market with no clear explanation.
